Titanium Carbon Nitride is harder, tougher and more wear resistant than titanium nitride under the same conditions of moderate cutting temperatures. Like TiN, Titanium Carbon Nitride (TiCN) maybe used at higher cutting speeds in broad range of materials, especially ferrous steels. Use with caution in non-ferrous materials because of tendency to gail. TiAIN is a better choice when used at extreme temperatures.
